Laser Hair Removal

Unwanted hair has always plagued both men and women of all ages. It can be caused by a variety of factors, including genetics, certain medications such as hormones or steriods, or even medical abnormalities. Most who have this condition associate it with waxing, plucking and painfully removing excess hair. This redundant maintenance does indeed offer temporary relief but won't work effectively on large areas and won't eliminate hair permanently, even over time. And while the cosmetic skin care industry has made major strides in relieving patients of unwanted hair, most methods to-date are generally painful and uncomfortable; often deterring some from having any procedure at all.
This year Alma, a leader in laser hair removal devices, was the first to launch what is considered to be the next generation in lasers. The new Soprano XII boasts pain-free laser hair removal without the need for topicals, cooling or other numbing agents. The device is designed to alleviate patient pain and discomfort by utilitzing In_Motion technology with intense power and an intelligent, intuitive interface that delivers fast, painless treatments with safe, consistent and reliable clinical results. Dermatologists and medical spas are now using the Soprano XLi across the country, including at the renowned JUVA Skin & Laser Center in New York, where clinical studies have been conducted for the device. The result has been smooth legs, arms, backs, and faces after an experience that some patients compared to a soothing hot stone massage.
Another obstacle in laser hair removal is a patient's skin type and hair color, which often limits when and if laser hair removal can even be offered. This device sets itself apart from other laser and light based systems by allowing practitioners to deliver treatment to their patients year-round with the versatility of treating all skin types, including tanned skin and all pigmented hair. By alleviating the anxiety and concern associated with what used to be a painful treatment, patients are more relaxed and willing to explore the option of laser hair removal on large and small areas of their face and body - going beyond typical regions like the lip, chin, hands and feet to larger areas like the back, legs and underarms resulting in significantly less grooming maintenance.
Depending on the area of the body being treated, recommended sessions range from 4-5 treatments and range in cost depending on the areas being treated.
